We offer a wide range of experiences designed to give our clients an insight into the Equine world. These include Horse Whispering and Equine Assisted therapy sessions, Livery, Small Animal Therapy, Outdoor Education and Angling. Our stunning respite cottage is a self-contained, peaceful haven ideal for the peaceful downtime that is so beneficial to our families. Our approach is to personalise the experience so that the time spent with us is inclusive and engaging for all. We offer vocational and classroom-based learning so that nobody is excluded.

Horse Whispering and Equine Assisted Therapy

Horse whisperers use horses to mirror our emotions and help us reach a place in our human hearts and psyches that more traditional therapies may not have touched before.

Equine assisted therapy sessions are a unique approach to therapy where clients are offered safe experiences with horses for the purposes of building social-emotional and relationship skills, enhancing quality of life and personal development. Equine assisted therapy and learning is a powerful method used in the treatment of mental and emotional trauma, incorporating communication and activities with horses.

Small Animal Therapy

Small Animal Therapy

Small animal therapy can aid in emotional regulation, social skills development and overall well-being for people young and old. It has also shown promise in supporting individuals with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. We are in the process of developing this offer to include dogs, cats and small livestock including goats, sheep, and pigs.

Outdoor Education

Our diverse offering includes the chance for our users to learn about, and take part in outdoor preparation, horticulture, and land-based studies. Users can learn how to prepare a riding arena and practice ring, clear an area for a fishing peg, planting and harvesting vegetables and how to maintain a diverse and healthy habitat for nature to thrive. They are given the opportunity to learn the theory behind the practical learning that they have undertaken. Theory sessions are bite-sized and take place in our dedicated learning hub. The learning hub is an informal environment with comfortable furnishings and refreshments on hand, it is not your average boring classroom.

Outdoor Education

Angling

Angling

We have a multi peg angling lake located a short walk from the Equestrian centre, stocked with Carp and other freshwater silver fish. Angling is a meditative and calming experience, away from the busier main centre it is a haven for people who may struggle in crowds or loud environments. Experienced anglers can fish on their own if they wish, our team of volunteer fisher-people are always on hand to supervise and provide advice if required. Our team also run one to one sessions and short classes on how to set up angling equipment and what to do when the fish is on the hook. Our outdoor education sessions extend to the pond, building pegs and maintaining the water and pathways.
